Elder Law

As people age, they sometimes become more dependent on their families and they cannot continue to live independently.  This can be a difficult time, both emotionally and financially.  Our attorneys assist clients and their families in evaluating their options for home care, independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing care, Medicaid issues and asset protection.  We also advise the client and their families of other benefits to which they may be entitled but are not aware.  We are well-acquainted with the facilities serving our community.

At times, families notice that their loved one is failing mentally and may be in need of someone to handle their medical and financial affairs.  If there is no Power of Attorney in place, families may need to Petition Orphans’ Court to have a Guardian of the Person and of the Estate appointed.
